Profile of Residents

Residents are primarily concerned about quality-of-life issues, especially the impact changes in the downtown will have on surrounding residential areas. Although residents have no direct role in the decision-making process, their input can be very effective in two ways-- 1). they can express their opinions and emotions at public hearings required for most large development projects; and 2). they have the power to elect officials to local government who respect their opinions and respond to their concerns. Through sheer numbers, nearby residents have an important role to play in development decisions.
