NORMAN TYLER, PhD, FAICP, is emeritus faculty of the Urban and Regional Planning Program at Eastern Michigan University, where he was director of the program from 1990 to 2009. He received his Doctoral degree from the University of Michigan and his PhD from Michigan State University. He is is a registered architect and a certified planner, and in 2012 was selected as a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Norman Tyler died on July 30, 2026 from complications of lung cancer.
