The Concerned Citizens of Rivertown group has tried to encourage a boycott of the bookstore by Rivertown residents as a way to discourage business.

Many of the residents do not want to publicly boycott because they do not want their name to be associated with this issue. Others are unfamiliar with the controversy, or are generally too unconcerned to be involved.

It is difficult to determine if a boycott has been successful, since the store seems to have about as many customers as previously. It is assumed many of the customers come from out of town, so they would not be interested in the local controversy.

So much for an attempt to have a boycott...
