Historic district study committee

A historic district Study Committee should be established by your municipal council to:

1) review the historic significance of buildings in the proposed area and
2) recommend district boundaries.

The first activity of the Study Committee is to review buildings that potentially could be located in a historic district. It evaluates each building's potential historic significance, both individually and as contributing to a district.

Descriptions should be written of all buildings in the proposed historic district, whether or not they are historic.
See an example of a description.
