There are many resources for students to explore that focus on takings, which represents an important legal issue in planning. The Lucas decision is arguably the case that best describes aspects of the situation with Nipsy More, but other cases will give a useful broader perspective. Pages 194-5 of the book describe other relevant cases for this purpose. Further information is available online. A dated, but easy-to-read web site that covers a basic understanding is "Takings Law in Plain English," written by Christopher Duerksen and Richard Roddewig (1995). |
